Software services firm Infosys has received recognition as a leading employer on the European continent including its key markets such as Switzerland, The Netherlands, Germany, France and the United Kingdom. What won the software services firm the honor bestowed by Top Employers Institute, a global certification company, were the excellent employee conditions it offered its workers.
Infosys has previously never applied for the certification but got the recognition of being one of Europe’s best firms to work for in its first application. The certification is a demonstration of the commitment the software services firm has to growth on the continent by investing in the personal wellbeing and professional development of its employees.
“…we need to build and develop talent locally across the continent, and this means providing a work environment with the best HR practices to attract and retain highly-skilled talent. Top Employer certification is a validation of Infosys’ Talent Management strategy,” said Infosys’ Chief Operating Officer, UB Pravin Rao.
Audit and evaluation
Prior to clinching the certification a stringent audit and evaluation was conducted on the human resource environment of Infosys in all the participating countries. The criteria ranged from compensation and benefits, career management, onboarding and talent strategy planning. Infosys has a workforce of over 200,000 employees spread across the globe in the 45 countries the software services firm operates in.
Other technology firms that received the Top Employers Institute certification for 2018 in Europe include Virtusa, Tata Consulting Services, Dimension Data, Cognizant, CGI and Avanade.
Avanade received the Top Employer 2018 certification in the United Kingdom, Spain, the Netherlands, Italy, France and Belgium. Recently Avanade’s digital consulting business was expanded across mainland Europe. CGI on the other hand received the certification for its operations in Sweden, Netherlands, Germany, Finland, Belgium, India and Canada.
Some of the areas in which Cognizant excelled in leading to the certification included talent strategy and workforce planning. The executive management of Cognizant were praised for taking a proactive role and being actively engaged in the development and execution of the company’s HR strategy.
Dimension Data’s Top Employer certification applies to 31 different countries it operates in though the technology consultancy firm is present in 68 countries.
The certification that Infosys received from Top Employers Institute comes in the wake of the No. 2 software services firm in India announcing that it has sold its entire stake in OnMobile Systems at a price of $2.49 million. Infosys disclosed this in a filing with India’s stock market regulatory authorities.
